BB&B News for Sunflower and other Cheap Bastards

You probably already know this, but I hadn't been to Mecca, Jr. in a while before today.

They have a sign on the door that they're still accepting LNT coupons through Feb 28 (except for the % off total purchase ones). If you're like me, though, you tossed all your coupons in a fit of pique when LNT stopped taking them during the clearance.

They are also still taking expired coupons without regard to date, apparently. I didn't notice until I got to the register that my coupon expired 1-5-08 rather than 1-5-09, but it went through without a problem.

I never got a lot of LNT coupons, BB&B is the one that we get a ton of and I pull them from the recycle bin in our mailroom! But yes, I did throw away the few LNT that I had. No loss, as I probably have 65 BB&B in the car. I am SO glad they will still be taking expired ones, I was worried that with LNT closing, BB&B would realize they no longer have to offer 20% off. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't anyone tell them!!

I never got a lot of LNT coupons, BB&B is the one that we get a ton of and I pull them from the recycle bin in our mailroom! But yes, I did throw away the few LNT that I had. They've still got to go up against Mecca and others of their ilk. With the 20%, most of their prices are in line with them. I bought a Krups coffee grinder there yesterday because with my $5 coupon it was the same price, maybe a dollar or two less, than a crappy Hamilton Beach one at Mecca. If they get people in the store with the one coupon and they see something else they want then the coupon was worth it to them.

Very true...and most people don't actually know you can use 500 coupons in one transaction. I'm sure they make plenty. I wasn't thinking about Mecca or Target, I was thinking of stores like Macy's as competition, BB&B has lower prices than they usually do.

Can you believe I haven't been to BB&B in almost 2 months????? With all the drama in my life, I haven't had time for anything. I haven't even gone to Mecca although I need to, as I am nearly out of toothpaste, I've been living off trial sizes for the last two weeks. I knew it was bad today when I had to go to the stash of 1 - 2 time use packets you get in the mail.
