You mean the spammers can get away with it, if they identify themselves as Merry Men, first? :?

If a spammer could figure out what the hell a Merry Man was, they deserve to stay!

Beast has to designate you as a MM. You can't give yourself a title.

I knew that.

But what's the secret handshake that lets him identify other people's MM as one of the club?

Too late - there's not a Ponderosa anywhere in my town. Too bad because our family used to go there often. No Bonanzas, either.

All the horses in your town can breathe a whole lot easier knowing that.

Are you talking about the one on Preston Highway? I just ate there a few months ago.

Is it still there? I wasn't aware of that. Too far to drive to, though, so it might as well be closed to me.

The moderators have a button which gives us the IP address from which a post was sent, and tells us what other members have posted from the same IP address. So if, for example, Ebenezer Scooge shows up and his post has the same IP address as was used for a few thousand posts from, say, MarleysGh0st, we draw the obvious inference. --Bob

Not that I'm ever going to set up an MM (seeing as how I haven't even figured out how to fully set myself up yet), but do you take into account people who post from both home and work?

Sounds like this secret moderator button keeps track of all IP addresses, so they'd be able to double check a new address against all the usual haunts of our established BBs. The only way to maintain the mystery would be to log in from a public access terminal or some other computer you've never posted from before.

For the record, Ebeneezer Beast is not my Merry Man.
