Melly's Movie Makes the Razzies

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Wed Jan 21, 2009 3:18 pm

Our Bored's noted thespian, Melly, will be among the dozens watching raptly the night before the Oscars to see if her latest epic will achieve all time infamy by winning this year's highly coveted Razzie award for Worst Picture. The Happening was one of the lucky nominees for this year's title. While Melly herself failed to get a nomination, her co-star, Mark Wahlberg got one for Worst Actor for his efforts in Happening and Max Payne, while M. Night Shyamalan got the coveted double nomination for Worst Director and Worst Screenplay.

The Love Guru managed a staggering seven nominations, including Worst Film, Worst Actor (Mike Myers) Worst Actress (Jessica Alba) and two for Worst Supporting Actor (Mini Me and Ben Kingsley, a pair who are almost always associated with each other in the public's mind). Paris HIlton managed three nominations for Worst Actress (The Hottie and the Nottie), Worst Couple (same) and Worst Supporting Actress (Repo, a movie that is an opera about stealing body parts from unwilling live donors (actually a movie in which this fate actually befell Ms. Hilton might qualify for an Oscar)).

Noted German shlock director Uwe Boll, the modern day successor to Ed Wood, managed a total of eight nominations for films to which he lent his touch, and Boll also won the coveted honorary award for Worst Career Achievement.

No word yet whether Melly or any other celebrities involved with these projects will be in attendance.

She was the woman sitting next to Mark Wahlberg in the diner when they show the news footage of the lions ripping people to shreds.

I was happening along and saw this thread. The fact that The Happening` Ain’t Happening happens to be OK by me. If it happens to win so be it. I just happened never to have seen that Happening, but I happened to see the first movie call The Happening from 1967. Regardless I happened to know whose happening the The Happening was which happened to let me continue on. I guess everything happens for a reason or maybe it was just happenstance.

Melly was the highlight of the movie. This is obvious by the other nominations for Razzies.

Okay, I have not yet seen this movie, but I stand by my statement. Melly would always be the highlight of a movie for me.

Even if I never do anything else of note in my career (and voiceovers for drug companies are a nice way to keep working but they aren't IMDB credits, y'know? :D ), getting to say one of the great cheesy lines in B movie history will remain a thrill of my life.

:D

Thank you to all you little people out there in the dark. :D

You can go to the Razzie awards and pick-up the trophy. I'm voting for "you".

I knew you did voiceovers, melly, but I didn't know they were for the drug companies. Since GW and I watch the network news, we're inundated with ads for various drugs (those who watch the news are obviously old and very ill, at least judging by the typical ads that are sold for the show). Which ones are you?
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Most of my voiceovers are for industrial films or educational videos -- introduction of new products or the English translation of testimonials (I don't do the translation, I just read it). The Commonwealth of PA videos for women moving from welfare to work.

So, the only time anyone has seen me on screen is The Happening.

I'll have to watch it again...just to see you.

What was the cheesy line again? (You can see how memorable this film was!)

And is it listed in the "Quotes" section of IMDB?

It's in the diner, after Mark Wahlberg has talked mood ring with the little girl.

A women (me) shows him the iPhone with the video of the lions' den. Then says, "Mother of God, what kind of terrorists are these?"

It's not on the list of memorable quotes, which wounds me something awful. :)

No need to complain. Just create an imdb account, and you can add the quotation yourself.

Melly,

Did you get a SAG or AFTRA card from that or did you already have one?
