I'm In the Army Now!
or sort of. I will be doing some counseling for military families locally at their weekend fairs and other events. Should be interesting. They want me to take the Miliatary Sensitivity Course in preparation of going out into the field.
Yes, I already got a call from the Brass asking me if I would ever be available for a 1 -3 month assignment overseas (sure I'll go to Iraq or Afghanistan!)....NOT! I'll keep it local and on weekends when I have some extra time. Hopefully I will be able to help these families adjust to returning to civilian life or going the other way into the combat zones.

Good for you! I did my share of that in the 70s. I don't expect it's gotten easier.

I signed up for the gig without knowledge of any renumeration, but it sure helps me and my wife during these very tough economic, especially being one who makes 75% of my income from investment activities.DaveSenior72 wrote:As a vet who left family behind several times, thank you!!

Just read that the military suicide rate is the highest it's been in two decades. Terrible stats! I need to be sensitive to the depression issue and how it relates to financial troubles for our armed forces as well. So far the hardest part of the training classes I am taking online is the different military insignias. Geez they all look the same to me!
