Primal scream thread

#1 Post by minimetoo26 » Wed Jan 28, 2009 7:54 am

There's just been so much crap dropping on all of us, and we're starting to take it out on each other. So let's just take it out here instead.

My grandmother's in the hospital and my son is sick and my m-i-l actually is much better but her friend is sick and another of her friends is having surgery today and ...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't take any more and don't even want to answer the phone in case it's more bad news..

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay--that's a little better.

I'll second your primal scream and raise you a primal thrashing motion.

Excellent idea! Flail away!

Steve's out of town, so drinking heavily is out of the question. What with the kids and all. Thrashing can substitute nicely, as long as the neighbors don't peek in and call the cops. I'm sure I would thrash so clumsily they'll think I'm having seizures.

I'll put on It's the End of the World as We Know It and we can all spin around in the living room. The kids love doing that....

Get them all tuckered out, drag out the laundry, and meet us in chat tonight. We'll go to bed when the sun comes up..... :P

Thanks for reminding me about the laundry. Better go check the dryer.

The weather in Orlando will drop 20 degrees tomorrow, right before we get there, so I have to pack heavier clothes.

I'll put on my CD of Albannach, which is a band that specializes in primal Celtic drumming (with some accompaniment by a bagpipe).

And they look the part, too, like the highlanders just come down to fight alongside William Wallace!

George Fraser MacDonald hated that scene(and the movie). Wallace was not a highlander.

Hey, just trying to drag the bored back to its roots of nitpicky crap.

And I still believe crocs kill more people in Africa than Hippos do. AND the facts would back me up if the damn crocs victims did not disappear into their stomachs.

I don't know about swallow, but my wife & kids have bought so many the amount spent on them gives me a heart attack.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

I've seen their albums come up on Amazon, but I haven't heard their music. Are they worth giving a try?

I've only got one titled "Loud!"

Self-explanatory.

For the traditional bagpipes type CD, probably not.

For some pretty primal drum and pipes, worth one shot.

Any of their stuff downloadable to try before you buy the whole thing?

I think so. Amazon even sent me e-mail about having a $3 credit to try their music download service, which I haven't yet...

The Wicked Tinkers have appeared on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson a few times, most notably the first night he was back after burying his father. The 2nd and 3rd clips below, showing CF in tie & shirtsleeves joining the band are from that night. There are several performances here, so you should get a good feel for the band.

I did check Amazon's MP3 listings, which let you listen to snippets of each of their songs, so I got a pretty good idea of their music. More pipes and less drums in the balance than Albannach has. So I'm not in a hurry to buy one of their albums. I'll grab it if one shows up at the Friends of the Library booksale, though.

Thanks for the YouTube link, Estonut!
