I felt sorry for her the first five or so years that she had them.

She was also lactose intolerant for a four years, except when there was something with cheese on somebody else's plates.
When Maddie turned 12, we had a family birthday lunch at Buca Di Beppo. Maddie wanted fried mozzerella, so we ordered them as an appetizer, along with garlic bread. My mother-in-law complained about the fried mozzerella due to her lactose intolerance, then downed several of them.

Peaby, I suspect you will find no further problems with your eyelashes now that you'ver retuned to your 'old' mascara. My sister used to lose her eye lashes regularly, until she discovered Mabelline Great Lash (pink tube). It's the only stuff she can use and keep her eyelashes where they belong.
And Pea's right, she don't share dessert, no matter how big it is. Pity the wait staff who ask if they should bring two spoons.

Good point about the mascara. I was going to suggest that perhaps mascara was the problem in the first place. (if you wear it) Some of the stronger waterproof ones, or those new ones that have the little threads (fibers?) in them seem to be causing problems.tlynn78 wrote:Peaby, I suspect you will find no further problems with your eyelashes now that you'ver retuned to your 'old' mascara. Actually, dessert is something that I will share off a community plate. "Share" being the operative word and that has to be established prior to the ordering. If the other person(s) says that they don't want dessert and I order myself a dessert, it is mine.peacock2121 wrote:I never share dessert.
You can have anything else from my plate - except dessert.
I have hurt many people's feelings.
I do not care.
As opposed to what seems to be a general sentiment, I think restaurant serving sizes are exactly right. If I order some dish, I expect to eat that much food. I have no idea why others would think that I ordered extra food for them.
Of course, I've been single for most of my adult life and I'm back to that condition so my opinion should probably be ignored.
No matter where you go, there you are.

There's a product out there called Revitalash. It's very expensive but it is supposed to grow eyelashes like nobodies business.
It started off as a treatment for some sort of eye disease. But when they used it in nursing homes, they had to cut the eyelashes of the people who used it because they grew so much.
They have it in various salons around here and that's how I heard about it. One of the ladies who does my hair show me how her lashes looked--pretty good.

I believe the "eye disease" was glaucoma. At least there was an article in The Onion "American Voices" about it. And we all know how accurate The Onion is.Bixby17 wrote:There's a product out there called Revitalash. It's very expensive but it is supposed to grow eyelashes like nobodies business.

I think it's the mascara.
But The Boyfriend wanted to know if you were on any new medications? Could be an odd side effect.
I have decided to throw away everything in my make-up bag - I have eye liners that must be 20 years old - not a good thing, I am sure.
Now I get to find new colors!

No kidding. There is a 1/4 inch chunk of my right eyelid that had no lashes. I can see little ones growing in. The left eye is thinner, but no gap yet.
I have changed back to my old moisturizer and stopped wearing make-up for now. I will see in 2 months if that changes things.
Anyone ever have anything like this?
A facialist once warned me to watch out for this, saying that some mascaras/eye makeup removers can cause it, especially old stuff that needs to be tossed...and said to be very gentle when using the eye makeup remover stuff because of this.
I once burned off all the eyelashes on my left side. I was 19. Tipsy. (Well, ok...I was way past tipsy). Trying to light a half-burned out clove cigarette.
Duh.

As much as it pains me, I tried to throw out all makeup every six months.peacock2121 wrote:Not on any new (or old) medication.mellytu74 wrote:Pea --

I wear contact lenses and I have been warned by my opthalmologist about the bacteria in eye makeup.

Rain Man pulled a bunch of his out in December of 2004. I remember the timing because he appears in many photos with newborn Erin and half the lashes gone on his left eyelid. I told him to knock it off and they grew back. He has a very high threshhold for pain.
It was better than the time he pulled out four of his teeth in a week. Good thing they were baby teeth. He would just wiggle and wiggle and wiggle until the were loose enough to pull.
Ya gotta love OCD....

He is very good about following orders. He is not so good on being left to his own devices. I tell teachers that if you are not Very Specific in your directions, you will just have to accept his interpretation. For better or worse...peacock2121 wrote:ouch and ouch
I am amazed that he knocked it off because you told him to knock it off.
