The Daily Game Show Fix is reporting that Fox is pulling this ridiculous game show from its Sunday night line-up (at least temporarily).
For the next two Sundays, Fox will plug in "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?," the second of which will be a repeat to run directly against the Super Bowl.
Oh, wow, 5th Grader is going up against the Super Bowl?
Pea will be amazed that I'll actually be watching the football game!

Only because the show will be a repeat. Of course I'd watch the football game but record "5th Grader" for viewing later if it were a new episode.

Are any of those football players smarter than a fifth grader?
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

"Hole in the Wall" was still on the air?!
The fact that that show lasted even this long says a lot about the average American TV viewer.

It's the one football game I make a point of watching each year.
Mostly for the commercials.

Not to mention what it says about the Japanese!

Oh, no, I'm not going to fall into that trap and get a lecture from clem about Johnny-come-lately fans.
I'm rooting for a game that will exciting enough to keep the interest of somebody like me who doesn't watch football.
And I'm rooting for clever, unusual, entertaining commercials. Commercials that aren't simply ruder and cruder than the norm.

I applaud that plan.

I will look for this year's Budweiser Clydesdale ad. Other than that, who knows? My all-time favorite is still the McIlhenny Tabasco sauce ad with the skeeter.
I will throw something (hopefully not up) at this year's GoDaddy ad (I still do not know what they're selling, if it isn't implants).
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Yes, that's the sort of commercial I'm hoping for!
And herding cats!
And the little kid who assembled the killer robot in his garage!

They pulled the show from the schedule in the fall after a couple of weeks. Recently, they returned it to the schedule more or less to burn off the remaining already filmed shows, but ratings have been so bad they've yanked it again. Production stopped on the show quite some time ago.
