I have tried every brand of clumping cat litter available, but my cats have something in their urine that can turn any brand first into a goopy mess, and then into concrete if I don't get to the box quick enough.

I'm going to try bribing my husband with good food or sex to get him to start cleaning the litter.

Tell him women of child-bearing age are NOT supposed to deal with soiled kitty litter. Toxoplasmosis (I think, if I'm remembering correctly). If that doesn't work, tell him exposure to soiled kitty litter increases female fertility x10.

Definitely tell him about the fertility. If I have it right, it's not "women of child-bearing age", it's "pregnant women"; adult women generally have immune systems powerful enough to fight off toxoplasmosis, fetuses do not. So the danger lies in a woman having her first exposure to the disease while pregnant; she'd fight it off but the fetus would sustain damage while she's developing the immunity. Otherwise, a fetus' immune system is the mother's, so she'd fight it off for both.

Of course, I may have it wrong.

No, you have it right, and I almost changed my post, except that, for a lot of women, at least a few weeks of pregnancy goes by before we know we're preggers, and exposure during that time-frame is dangerous, as you said, to the fetus. That's why I stuck with the 'child-bearing age' (and I prolly should have added 'ability', since not every <approx> 12-45 yo is able).
