I should have put in a bit of text just to say that the eating squirrels story has to do with dastardly American grey squirrels invading and overpopulating Great Britain, driving the native red squirrels to distraction. So, eat a grey and save a red.

The grey vs. red deal in England has been kicking around the Bored almost as long as ES....
I still don't think it's been recycled as much as the squirrel underpants though.....

I regret that neither the New York nor the Grantham Times chose to use the Bored as a reference.
This MUST have been before 2002, no, that it was kicking around, because I remember various funny and/or squashed wildlife, the most striking name of which was and probably is Giant Gambian Rat, but I don't remember squirrel vs squirrel. And did the previous references reference eating Americans (squirrels, that is)?

I didn't mean old-old, I meant old, as in one of the first references brought up after ES began carving his niche here last Spring. Kay was the one who first brought it up I think, then it was brought up yet again by someone who likes posting links to different stories. my memory is taking numersous senior moments, it seems. I thought I would remember any reference from the bored at least its present version. Maybe I was taking a break. at any rate, both news articles re nice, even it my post is dumb.
