A few of you contacted me to ask about my cousin's newborn after I mentioned it in one of the Thanksgiving threads - thanks a ton for your offers of help and well-wishes!
She was born with malpositioned heart valves that weren't diagnosed before the birth, and flown to Atlanta from Knoxville for open heart surgery. It went very well, and she's now off the ventilator and most of the other support measures. No word yet on how much longer she will need to stay in Atlanta, but she's now in the 'step-down' section of the NICU. Aside from her surgical recovery, she's very healthy and feisty, and everyone is optimistic about her outcome.
So thanks again. Little Claire really appreciates it.

Great to hear this, mmff! It's always tough to see little ones in distress, and I know Claire's family is thrilled at her prospects.
From of your recent posts, it sounds like your family will be knee-deep in wee ones for the 2008 holiday season. Many congratulations, and what fun for you all!

I haven't gotten to the Bored much in the last few days, so I missed this. I'm so glad the surgery went well and that her prognosis is good. I pray she'll continue to improve and come through with flying colors.

I am happy to hear that the baby is doing so well. May she continue to get stronger and healthier, so that eventually her parents will marvel that there ever could have been anything wrong.
