A simple trivium, in honour of nearly missing all Dec 16

What is the next number in this series?

21, 55, 67, 92, ______.

This is on the order of "You know it or you don't". It is, however, not 93.

Is the date a clue? I have gone down several paths on this, and want to know if I should eliminate that angle.

125 it is.
Spoiler
opus numbers of the odd-numbered Beethoven symphonies, which are the ones thought of as big, world-changing and philosophical: Heroism, fate, dance, joy. The even-numbered ones are merely great music.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
