Prayers and thoughts, please

#1 Post by Rexer25 » Fri Dec 12, 2008 12:49 pm

I had not been in touch with my best man at my wedding in some time, so I sent him an email yesterday. It turns out he had a stroke several years ago, and is now severely disabled. He has virtually no short term memory, his long term memory is hit and miss, he can barely see, he can't talk or eat food, and he has great weakness on his left side. His wife has quit her job to take care of him. When we were in more regular contact, he was one of the people who could always make me laugh. He was off-beat and irreverent, and could laugh at himself as much as he laughed at others. He played the guitar, and was passionate about photography. I don't really know what his days are like now, but his wife says that the real Scott comes through now and again. So, in your long lists of people who need extra help, please remember Scott Ledbetter and his wife Pat in Seattle. They need a touch of grace.

Thanks
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

I will endeavor to remember them in my thoughts and may they find the grace you wish for them.

Wow, that's tough, Rexer. They are in my prayers.

Rexer, any best man of yours is a best man of mine. I'm truly sorry to hear about Scott's bad news. My prayers go to him and to his wife, who sounds pretty darn terrific herself.

Thinking of you and your friend, Rexer.

Hope things improve.

I am often astounded at the stories of people who go through so much, yet manage to find the grace in every situation.

I said a prayer for Scott and Pat this morning, Rexer.

Thoughts and prayers, and all the best to Scott and Pat. And here's hoping the real Scott keeps coming through more and more in the future.

Adding my prayers to those already in the queue. Both Scott and Pat sound like excellent folks, and I hope the best for them in the coming year, in this very tough situation.
