Request re my PAF appearance

#1 Post by Bob78164 » Tue Dec 09, 2008 5:23 pm

Is my PAF appearance for madamemeisha on the Web anywhere publicly accessible? Before I left for Israel, I gave some business acquaintances a head's up about my upcoming appearance. One of them is here in Los Angeles, where he missed it because basketball kicked the appearance out a couple of days.

He's asked me whether it's on the Web somewhere. I'd like to accommodate him, but (a) I can't search YouTube from work, (b) my Internet at home went out last night, and (c) I don't know how to YouTube something. So if the clip isn't already on the Web, would someone mind posting it?

Thanks very much. --Bob

I second this request! User "indezin" posts clips of recent millionaire appearances on youtube, but he apparently didn't record mine. I'm a computer idiot, so I don't know how to put things on youtube. I've been asking people I know though, Bob, so hopefully it will be up soon.

Hey, I wanted to remind you to pay some attention to taxes in 2008, even though they won't be due until 2009. In particular, as I mentioned in your transcript thread, it may make sense for you to write a chunk of your state tax check in 2008, so that it's available as a deduction against your 2008 income. You'll probably have AMT to deal with (which complicates the analysis), so prepaying may or may not be a good idea, but I wanted to be sure the issue was on your radar screen. --Bob

Bob, are you on Time Warner/Roadrunner? There was apparently a big outage last night, but my access was restored by 1 AM, so you should be OK today if you have the same ISP.

If you can't get a copy posted to YouTube, I could copy my DVD+R of the show and get it to you. Let me know via PM if you need it.

Yes we are. We had access again for half an hour in the morning, then it went out again. I thought (guessed) that the issue was with our modem, and didn't think of the possibility the problem was external.

On the other hand, I had no trouble recording Boston Legal last night, so I'm not convinced my problem was external, particularly since it recurred.

Thanks for the offer. I've actually still got that show on my TiVo. The issue is my relative computer illiteracy -- I need to get it to the Web and I don't know how. --Bob

You can use TiVo desktop to transfer the files to your PC, but you need Nero 8 or 9 to convert them into a format YouTube can use.

We have Macs, not PCs. What's "TiVo desktop"? What's "Nero 8 or 9"? --Bob, the late adopter

They're Windows programs, sorry.

I thought that, too, but my cable TV was fine, but I had no web access.

Starting next week there will be three weeks of repeats of Millionaire. Who knows maybe they'll show your episode again.

Bob, Brianne and anyone else who's interested:

I've posted Brianne's $250k question in its entirety on YouTube. Ive used the account that will ultimately be the video repository for my web site, wwtbamdotbiz.

This is one of the episodes I actually got to see, since it was shown Veteran's Day. I really need to get a DVR...
