...you would post too if you were drunk as me.

Actually, I'm not that drunk. I just needed a way to end this.

Okay, I will aid and abet you for a while. What did you think of Albert Pujols winning NL MVP? I am a Cardinal fan, but I thought Ryan Howard would win it. If a player leads the league in HR and RBI for a first-place team, shouldn't he be the MVP?

And did you say you are not a Cardinal fan? I thought everyone within a 100 mile radius of the Gateway Arch was a fan.

I'm OK with it since the team exceeded expectations, and he had the bonus effect of turning Ryan Ludwick into a legitimate cleanup hitter. I just hope it will shut up everyone who whined about McGwire not winning it in '98 because teh team didn't make the playoffs (And just flat out stunk.... largely BECAUSE of the McGwire effect)....

I have always been one who has gone my own way. I am not a fan of any team, though there are teams I dislike (Read, any team in the Northeast, and of course the damn Braves). It makes me the perfect fantasy baseball player....

Sometimes the MVP is a popularity contest. I still remember Andre Dawson winning it for the last-place Cubs.

Yeah, but at least's it more legit than the Gold Glove awards.... Rafael Palmeiro once won one while he was a DH....

Granted, I didn't follow baseball as closely this year as I have in past years, but Dustin Pedroia? Really?

The writers really don't know who to vote for most of the time for the Gold Glove. It is probably the least publicized baseball award, and for good reason.

Thank you. I went to dinner with my wife and some of her family, and then I made them some of my world-famous Irish coffee.

And thank you too, Christie.
