To Sir, With Love
Lillies of the Field
In the Heat of the Night
I highly recommend adding "A Patch of Blue," also w/ Poitier. Book and/or movie; both on my all time faves list.
I will add it, thanks. I did see "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" last year, and it was magnificent.

Sidney is so cool. Growing up, I must have watched Lillies Of The Field at least a dozen times. It's funny, so many of my favorite movies from the sixties involved nuns! There was The Trouble With Angels and Where Angels Go Trouble Follows w/Haley Mills, The Singing Nun w/Debbie Reynolds, A Change of Habit w/Elvis and MTM, and of course The Sound Of Music...

I'm in a non-fiction mood and I'm reading Only A Theory: Evolution and the Battle For America's Soul by Kenneth R. Miller. He refutes the Intelligent Design Theory and espouses evolution and why it matters. I agree with his assessment, I find his style to be a bit snarky and smug.

Next up - I had not read any John Updike in years, so I picked up one I hadn't seen before - Towards The End Of Time. I haven't started it yet.
You live and learn. Or at least you live. - Douglas Adams

I just finished Eclipse from the Twlight Series and now I am reading New Moon.

It's funny, my daughter and I had the same reaction to the relationship of Bella and Edward. He's too controlling. Both of us prefer Jacob.

Every time I read about the vampire Jasper, I laugh a little. Jasper is a cat, not a vampire. :)

and James is my kid, not a psycho vampire LOL.

I worry about the young girls reading this and thinking that a guy telling you what to do is romantic. :(
