Fox Network has released its schedule for calendar year 2009, which includes a bunch of American Idol. There are two new dramas, Dollhouse, with Eliza Dushku, will be on Friday at 9, following the relocated Sarah Connor Chronicles. Dollhouse is apparently a cross between Charlie's Angels and My Own Worst Enemy, as gorgeous spies have their memories erased and then reprogrammed with new personalities after each mission.
Lie to Me is on Wednesday at 9 following the American Idol results show. It sounds like a variation on The Mentalist, as an expert in detecting deception from body language helps the FBI unravel complicated coverups. It has a good cast with Tim Roth making his network TV debut along with Kelli Williams from The Practice.
24 will be on Monday at 9, following House. One of my guilty pleasure favorites Prison Break will be off the schedule for the forseeable future (translation: they'll burn off the remaining episodes over the summer).
Ratings for Life on Mars continue to drop. It is last in the time period behind Eleventh Hour and ER and is doing worse than last year's ABC show, Big Shots. Eleventh Hour is disappointing but not as bad. It loses a lot of its CSI leadin and is pulling half of Without a Trace last year. It may stay there by default or be shunted off to Friday nights (it would be a good match with Numbers, if CBS has something else to fill the slot in January).
