thanks and Happy Birthday wishes to Annie and Buff
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Happy Birthday Buffacuse and SuitDude!

I said HB to Annie in the other thread.

Awwwww...thanks dudes, dudettes, woof woofs and rodent like creatures....

Special happy bd to the the well-suited one...

Today was #50 for me--I got to spend it in beautiful weather playing in a charity fundraising golf tourny for the combined federal campaign--out version of the United Way.

My team won! 17 teams--second year in a row we took the trophy...might have somethin' to do with my playing partner, Vince, and the fact he came within two strokes of qualifying for the US Amateur a couple of years ago. But I was very proud--sank a few birdie putts including a couple that Vince missed.

Great day here and hope Annie and TMITSSS had one too.
