Zap Cockroaches

#1 Post by PlacentiaSoccerMom » Fri Oct 17, 2008 10:19 pm

I was told at Bubble Bath day that once Zap got comfortable at our house, in about six months to a year, he would start Cockroaching. Cockroaching is when a greyhound feels comfortable enough to sleep on his back and put his paws up in the air.

Jasper cockroaches all of the time. None of my other cats have ever cockroached.

This afternoon, I was doing laundry and walking back and forth between the rooms upstairs. Zap was sleeping in my retreat and I went into the room every few minutes so that he knew that I hadn't gone downstairs without him.

On one of my trips to put away laundry, I found a giant cockroaching dog. It was very cute. I rubbed his belly and then he resumed his sleeping position.

What a heartwarming anecdote... the stuff that kvelling is made of!

My kitties "cockroach" now and then while they're napping. I just cannot stop myself from sneaking up on them to tickle or kiss their tummies, which of course pisses them off and they'll slink away giving me dirty looks. A couple of them tolerate it sometimes, which always makes me happy.

Facto does this alla time, & does not turn over when tickled on stomach; he just revels in the tummy scratch, legs in air.

He hasn't done this much this trip, because he's depressed at semi-permanent visitor-dog Maggie, a tiny tube-sock of a beagle on long legs, horning her way into everything. Every scratch, every pat, everything.

Maggie's pretty cute when she's not baying. When she's baying, you basically want to tranquilize, muzzle her, whatever.

I know my Mom has a picture of Beast the dachsund "cockroaching", which is his preferred way of sleeping, especially when it's warm. I'll have to see if I can dig it up one day.....

I've never heard it called "cockroaching" before. Yay for Zap! :D

Of course the cockroaches don't call it that....because it means they're dead!
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

When I saw the subject, I thought this was a spam from a pest control company.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

We call it "bicycling", by the way; Re: Zap Cockroaches

Which I prefer. Especially since the legs are generally "pedalling".

I did as well.

Seemed like there would be too much guts and stuff in the corpse.
