Meanwhile back at high school, our heroine is upset because she didn't get a callback for Juliet. She got a callback for (Female) Benvolio.

It makes sense to me because I can't imagine her being so upset about a guy that she would kill herself. Plus, it's a more interesting part and she won't have to get her first kiss onstage in front of hundreds of people.

I hope she's not too disappointed. I know she'll do fine in whatever role she's in. Wish her luck from me.

High School is what prepares us for the disappointments in life. Hooray that she is risking so that she can be prepared.

I will!

She had to get a special dispensation to do the play and Mock Trial because they are both at the same time this year.

Next year, she will only be able to do Mock Trial, so she really wanted a juicy role.

Maddie just called me. Her Drama teacher sought her out and told her that the only reason why she didn't get a callback for Juliet is because of her Mock Trial conflicts.

That made Maddie feel better.
