Top ten reasons we never saw the rest of Barbara's HS run

#1 Post by AlphaDummy » Fri Sep 26, 2008 5:54 pm

From the Home Office, where we had this one in the works even before seeing Nelly's post...heeeere we go...

10) Production halted when squirrel chewed through main power cable

9) Contestant was summoned to Washington to discuss mortgage crisis with President

8) Disqualified after investigative reporters discover she was actually 14 years old and had used forged passport as ID

7) At last report she was still in the rest room

6) Contestant left studio without explanation after Mark Anthony DiBello was revealed as "Ask the Expert"

5) TPTB suddenly realized she was from Wisconsin

4) Barbara finally has enough of George Maddocks yelling at her from the on-deck seat to hurry up and move things along

3) Master tape machine fries; engineers unable to purchase replacement VCR from Wal-Mart

2) Legal injunction filed in California suspending taping until contestant adds Bob to her PAF list

1) Remainder of appearance pulled after WGAS airs spoilers secretly filmed by audience member sitting behind Hot Seat

Not only too funny, but one of them is pretty close to what might have happened!

It looks like tonight's episode won't air here in Los Angeles. Did someone get their run cut off on this episode? --Bob

I don't get it. What does this refer to? Did I miss something?

Refer to the George Maddocks transcript thread. In it, frogman notes that Barbara Mayhall Hunter - who was in the hot seat and still playing at the conclusion of Wednesday's show - was nowhere to be found at the beginning of Thursday's episode, fueling speculation as to what happened.

I seem to recall a contestant a few years back who had a couple of questions edited out of her run - but we still did get to see how she finally fared. Not so with Barbara; we were just left hanging.

Ooooh! Which one?

Surely it's not the evil squirrels--they'd be working for TPTB, not against them!

Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.
