Big J has joined many of his classmates, and is fundraising for the Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock bike ride. This is a huge event here on Vancouver Island.
The Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock raises money for pediatric cancer research and programs for children with a history of cancer. The Tour de Rock team cycles from one end of the Vancouver Island to the other, over 15 days, covering 1,000 kilometres.
Big J is raising pledges and will shave his head in mid October, in sympathy with the hairloss that cancer patients suffer.
We are quite impressed.
(also very relieved that they hold it AFTER picture day LOL)

Is Big J planning to join that 1,000 K bike ride?

Nope, that is a group of Cops and "special Invitees". They are all adults. Each one represents a "cancer buddy".

As an aunt of a teen cancer survivor, I thank James sincerely. My three boys shaved their heads in support of their cousin when he went bald, and all four sported pumpkins painted on their pates for Halloween. Kids!
