My b-i-l is back from Iraq...

#1 Post by otherindigo » Wed Sep 24, 2008 10:26 pm

He's finished with his year stint. We don't know when and if he will be going back. I guess it's whenever they say so.

ION, my brother should be headed back to the States sometime today or tomorrow. After all is said and done, he may make it back here by this weekend, which would be super cool.

My niece Madison is sooooo happy to see her daddy. She said in her 5 year old voice, "Daddy, I'm so glad you're home. I've been praying for you every night. Right Mommy?"

I teared up. That's my "Chicken Nugget Gurrrrlll friend", my "baby girl". She's soooo sweet.

That's good news.

Glad he's home safe and sound.

Does he have any (voiced) opinions about what's going on there in Iraq?

What great news! And, your "baby girl" sounds precious.

Great news!

Thanks guys.

I haven't really asked him. I know my brother and he worked constantly, long hours, pretty much every day of the week. They are both civilians so they made some pretty amounts of money. No one knows right now if and when they will be going back.

I'll get to talk to him more Sunday. I'll see what he says.

This is wonderful, wonderful news. I'm very happy for you.

I still remember exactly how I felt watching my big brother get off that plane home from Vietnam -- smiling. Thin, pasty, bad skin, horrific haircut, a bit of a haunted look -- but smiling.
