On the clock

#1 Post by Bob78164 » Tue Sep 23, 2008 10:31 am

For the 22nd time, I'm on the clock -- this time for TexasMommy. Good luck to her and to my TexasMommy TeamMates (neither of whom is on the Bored). --Bob

And that's a wrap. No word from New York, so it appears that I'm off the hook for today. Unless something went wrong, I guess I'm back to it tomorrow. --Bob

Yes, Bob, you are on again for tomorrow! I sent you an email earlier this evening with the update. After spending the entire day in the "greenroom" with four hold-over contestants from yesterday and five other new contestants, I feel like I have been on a super sonic roller coaster going backwards for several hours straight! The worst part, I think, is not knowing the order of who goes when (with the obvious exception of the hold-over group who naturally goes first) and every time the phone in the greenroom rings, everyone immediately shuts up and waits to hear who just got called to go down. I ended up getting the "call" at the end of the 4th show of the day, waited backstage as they began the final show, and, once that person finished, I was brought to the "on deck" seat until the horn sounded and the tape day was done. So, I am among four hold overs that will be on tomorrow's show.

What an incredible experience this has been so far!!! Thank you for the great tip, Jay, about going to see the show the day before you tape!! It helped so much to see it all ahead of time! I was in a really awesome group of contestants today and we were laughing almost all day long with each other and with the staff which did a lot to ease our nerves.

Bob, one of the staff actually came in at one point and asked how I knew you because you had been used as a PAF a number of times. I told them I found you in the Yellow Pages under "Millionaire Show Friend Pimp". They all got a kick out of that one! I seriously thought they might not let me use you, but nothing was said after that. Thanks again for taking the time again tomorrow to be on call for me! I really appreciate it!

I'm off to try and sleep (again)! I couldn't sleep at all last night for fear that I would wake up late and not make it to the studio by 7:30, but fortunately, I was there 10 minutes early.

Pray for me!

-Kristin

Good luck, Kristin! We'll be sending out good vibes for you.

The most important thing for you to do now is get some sleep. Good luck on Wednesday!

Aha! My plan is working! I now know what I'll list as my profession the next time I audition.

Good luck tomorrow. It sounds like you'll be starting the day in the on-deck circle, so I expect my vigil will end quickly. And whatever happens, have a great time! --Bob

Just so its clear, it was TheConfessor who gave me that tip, I've just been passing it along, but I do think it is critical if you have never been to a taping before.

Good luck today, since you don't have to get up as early and you know when you will be going on, you should be more alert and more comfortable. Have fun and here is hoping for a great run.

I think it's a good bet that all the APs will be familiar with that title in no time, Bob! 8)

Good luck, today, TexasMommy and Bob MSFP!
