Thoughts Monday for BD
Job interview. I forget the job title, but it's basically director at the base preschool. Most of the teachers there are moms, with no educational background in teaching. BD, with her degree in early education, student teaching and year-plus of active experience, is extremely qualified to lead them. GW's opinion is that "they'd be fools not to hire her." Here's hoping TPTB are not fools.
Not really prayer-worthy, IMO, but maybe some good thoughts and positive waves heading to CA tomorrow. Thanks.

Interview's over. Sounded like it was successful. This job is actually as lead teacher in the classroom, sort of a supervisory position. They were impressed that BD knew that the school was up for accreditation in February (not necessarily an easy find via Internet searching), and with her experience with helping a previous employer through that process.
Timeframe for notification is uncertain. She has also recently applied for assistant director in the same school. When she has asked about the hiring process, she has been told to apply for anything appropriate that she sees on their website. So she has. We shall see how things work out. Having employment will ease some financial concerns, not to mention giving her something to do other than stay out of the heat.

Yes, definitely. Bad news/good news item: The bad news is that the couple they're currently living with are transferring to Fort Bragg in NC at the end of the year. The good news is that the couple with the other wife of her age whom she met at the base tour also had their housing number come up, and they'll be just a block away.MarleysGh0st wrote: And if she gets this job, it will help her get to know lots of the other families at the base. That'll mean a lot, not feeling so isolated and lonely out there.
It ain't easy watching your child trying to establish their own life and keeping your mitts off. Not that we could do much, but unless asked for specific advice, my mouth will remain firmly closed.
