Free photo for OU fans or friends thereof

#1 Post by silvercamaro » Mon Sep 22, 2008 10:45 pm

If you are an OU fan, or you know someone who is, the OU Photo Store (part of the University of Oklahoma Athletic Department) will send you a 9"x12" photo or give you a credit for $34.95 on a larger print or a framed photograph. (You still have to pay postage/handling.) The offer is good for 30 days.

At $34.95, the price per print seems a bit steep. At "free," it's downright reasonable. So far, more than 200 photos are offered. Although the press release says that all sports will be included, the subjects posted so far are primarily football shots, with some men's basketball and a smattering of marching band, cheerleader, and Sooner Schooner pictures.

I've already searched in vain for my top two choices:

As a surprise present for Pea, a picture of Anthony Kim during his OU golf team days; or for Annie, a picture of her very best basketball girlfriends, the OU women's team (rated #1 in the pre-season poll.) Neither are possibilities at this time. I spy other prospects for myownself, including a great close-up of Boomer and Sooner, the white ponies who pull the Schooner after touchdowns.

Our own former Rufnek Queen might want a photo that shows the whole Sooner Schooner and its crew. Beebs might select whichever of dozens of possibilities that she thinks her husband might like best, and if she can't decide, she can pick one and get her sons to snag a couple more. Chritie1111 might be interested in an interesting close-up of Pride of Oklahoma trumpets for her daughter.

And, for our non-fan friends in Texas and Nebraska, there's absolutely no reason why you can't order a photo of the football team or Coach Stoops to convert into a dartboard for somebody who dislikes the Sooners even more than you. :)

And if you check out the USC section on replayphotos.com (the same one where you will find those OK pics) you can order some of my pics, with the same free offer. There are some pictures of the 2005 BCS championship game. We played a team from OK. I wouldn't mind a rematch on January 8, 2009.

Ooh, ooh, ooh . . . now I have to decide which one I want to add to the shrine in my classroom.

Thanks for posting this link, SC!

So I guess you won't be using any from the 2005 Orange Bowl?

Thank you so much for posting this. I got the pic of the offense. I hope I can intercept it before Jeff finds it.
Well, then
