I'm not all that allergic to dogs. I'm apparently quite allergic to cats. Ms. 63, on the other hand, is highly allergic to both -- she purchased a Labradoodle several years ago in the hope that it was sufficiently hypoallergenic to allow coexistence. I've heard of that happening to others too. Allergies suck.
