Would you pick Joe Biden as a PAF?

#1 Post by themanintheseersuckersuit » Tue Sep 23, 2008 10:52 am

"Part of what being a leader does is to instill confidence is to demonstrate what he or she knows what they are talking about and to communicating to people ... this is how we can fix this," Biden said. "When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'look, here's what happened.'"

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Ignoring the direct political content of the post--but not avoiding the political humor aspect--I don't think any political candidates are necessarily trivia game experts.

And I'd be cautious about their ability to answer any question clearly and directly in under 30 seconds.

That depends on whether or not Joe Biden can use Google quickly and surreptitiously. :P

But, was FDRs TV broadcast available in Spain? Which of course is in Latin America.
