They must. My bank's home base is there.

It may not be too much longer until they ask us that question.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

That's what I meant. All of ours seem to be broken. :(

The regular banks are doing well; it's the investment banks that are in trouble.

Not my bank (Washington Mutual) and many other regular banks. Where have you been?

WaMu is in no danger of crashing. Yes, they have losses, but not fatal.

And actually the investment banks have been saved today by the feds allowing them to become bank holding companies.

Barack and Michelle Obama own a grand total of one car: a Ford Escape Hybrid.
Did you bother to read the article to which you linked?

It states "Obama's lone vehicle also is a green machine, a 2008 Ford Escape hybrid. He bought it last year to replace the family's Chrysler 300C, a Hemi-powered sedan. Obama ditched the 300C, once 50 Cent's preferred ride, after taking heat for driving a guzzler while haranguing Detroit about building more fuel-efficient cars."

He drove a gas-guzzling, gang-banger's dream car, until it was pointed out to him that he was a hypocrite.

JSM/CM "care" for 13 cars. There's seems to be a plethora of hypocrisy 'round these parts. On the plus side, Ms McCain's private jet IS fueled from the distilled fat of Alaskan state workers who crossed SP. Lipstick this...

I don't own any cars! Unless matchbox cars count and then I have, well, a lot of cars!

I do have two trucks though.

And a Massey-Ferguson tractor...

There might be only one thing funnier than everybody answering a question that Nelly doesn't really want answered, he just needed a framework in which to make an elitist jab and vilify McCain.

And that's Danielh answering the question not to give an answer, but just as a framework to make yet another abortion comment and vilify Obama.
Spoiler
I'm darned good and ready.

I have two: I have the 97 Toyota Camry that I bought (used) in 1999 after I was on WWTBAM, and I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan, that my sweet Margaret bought during her last year. The Camry is in better shape than the Grand Caravan (Camries are extremely well-made cars, they last forEVER), but both are still doing pretty well. They have about the same mileage on each (100,000 or so on the Grand Caravan, 110,000 on the Camry).

I will never buy a Ford again: last one I bought was a 1992 Taurus Wagon, which I traded in for the Camry: they actually made the transmissions out of ALUMINUM, which seems an odd choice of metal for something that gets pounded as much as a transmission. I had to replace the transmission twice before it had 60,000 miles on it (they replaced it for free once-- they recognized that aluminum is a stupid metal for a transmission-- and charged me little more than the amount of the tow the second time, but only because I argued with them). I previously had Fairmonts that were a pain in the ass as well.

I do not understand what is particularly 'elitist' about owning one or more than one car. I thought that 'elitism' was an attitude, not especially something to do with the property you do or do not possess.

The exact same thing happened with our Taurus Wagon. We had 3 transmissions in that one as well - the brakes went and we junked it. The junk guy asked if he could have it - his wife still drives it around town (he did replace the brake lines and all)

I still detest that car.

I had a red Fairmont back in the 80's. I was talked into it - hated that car as well.
