Harrumph

It still says the plane is taxiing to the runway, even though I know they had to get off the plane, go back to the terminal, and are now reboarding for a second attempt.

I think an update every, oh, hour and 50 minutes or so isn't asking TOO much...

The dad and the #3 son are going up via Newark to Shea and The Meadowlands for a weekend of Sports Overload. Plus cousin stuff. It's raining in Newark, but we ain't talking Ike-style. I've taken off in a puddle jumper in a tropical storm!

Some pilots are weenies.

Newark gets a lot of air traffic; it doesn't take much in the way of bad weather to bog them down. ATC is probably delaying their take-off and the pilot has nothing to say about it.

Edited before the Spelling Police arrive.

Now it still says taxiing, but they're bumped the arrival to 5:50!

So much for taking the kid out of school just before noon. Sheesh...

He tends to miss a bunch of Mondays, especially the ones after Sunday Jets home games. And Super Bowls. His grades are fine and he has a bunch to write about in his journal.

He won Paragraph of the Week the first time out this year! It was about Hawaii. The teacher liked the word "exhilarating"...

Well, sure!

If you're talking about a Three Generation audition--because he's too young for the regular shows--that's an investment in his future! 8)

Yay! They're in flight!

I like watching Flight View on Continental. That's a cool feature...

So they get there (late), and the game is postponed until tomorrow. Half a day of school missed for nothing. My son is totally devastated.

Yeah, right...

I think that's the storm that we had earlier. The rain was so hard and coming down in sheets that you couldn't see.

So, not Ike-like, but not great, either.

I was just teasing. I didn't want my little boy in any kind of danger, especially after the aborted flight we had in July.

They could have driven up to Newark more quickly, but I don't like them on the road any longer than they have to be. Drivers are way too unpredictable.

Of course, you were (teasing, I mean).

And it was a mess driving, too.

On my way home from work, the back roads were all clogged because there was a big accident on the PA Turnpike.

I hate when that happens.

It was just a drizzle by the time it got up here.
