Camille Paglia disagrees with you.

Not on the first part of your claim, but the conclusion.

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."

The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."

This will probably win even more support for Palin and less for Obama if peole do take the "lipstick on a pig" as a reference to Palin. Obama and his campaign are imploding, which is a good thing for our country...

mccain used the same euphemism re hillary and her health plan.

mccain's top woman campaign staffer also told hillary to stop whining about "unfair" media coverage last winter.

In terms of feminism, sure. Feminism's done. The leading feminist in America today is a pro-life moose-hunting Alaskan. The movement has become a victim of its own sucess - women can do whatever they want, and that's fine. But when those women vote Republican...
Oh, feminism is far from done. Feminism has picked up a new load of steam just this election cycle as many many women were shocked to find out how much sexism is out there, just under the surface, that it could bubble up with only a small provocation, even among those who claim they believe in human rights. A whole new generaltion of feminists has been born.

Palin is a woman, and an accomplished and capable woman I'm sure, but she is no feminist. She wants to do what she wants to do, but she doesn't give a damn if I and millions of other women are allowed to do what we want to do. She is probably the quintessential gen-x'er, man or woman, in that sense.

But they are learning. We have a long way to go, baby.
Again, you are conflating "abortion on demand" with feminism. I see nothing in Palin's life or actions, other than her position on abortion, that an actual feminist would have problems with.

I heard the lipstick pitbull line a loooooong time ago.

Only it was a lawyer joke.

What's the difference between a female lawyer and a doberman?

Lipstick.

I did vote for Bush twice, and I would sure vote for him again over Obama. Talk about sending the country to hell--an Obama presidency would certainly do that. Socialism, wealth redistribution, a weak military inviting more terrorist attacks, appeasement of terrorists, high taxes for business which would translate to fewer jobs.

I don't care when McCain used the euphemism; Obama's use of it so soon after Palin's prominent use of the word lipstick in her RNC speech just demonstrates his poor judgement. But then, he seems to be demonstrating his poor judgement in a lot of things.

shocker

which of Bush's accomplishments is most impressive?

you are quoting Rush Limbaugh.
One thing I like about Rush is he never talks over anyone's head.

we have had wealth redistribution under Bush.American wealth has gone overseas.
We have had a terrorist attack under Bush.He promoted those responsible for preventing the attack, then pissed away his chance to catch the perps because his minions convinced him to fight another war against nonperps which will cost over One Trillion dollars.

Employment growth under Bush is one quarter of what it was under Clinton. And average wages are down $2700 from 2001.

In 1955, business paid 35% of taxes collected.Today, they pay 7%.Over the last 5 years 25% of corporations paid no taxes at all in at least one year for which they had EBIT.

If you make less than 250k, it is in your financial best interests to vote for Obama.

with the money you save, you can start making contributions to the Abortion Rescue plan I talked about.

you should let him know of your double standard so he can do better.

If this year's politicians are intent on recycling lame old jokes about lips and lipstick, why not go for the all time classic: "How can you tell when a politician is lying?"

If you think Obama is going to save those making under 250K any money by adding $3.3 trillion to the national debt, you're deluded.

NEITHER of those two yahoos is gonna save you one red cent- each is gonna rob you blind (as McCain will add $5.5 tillion to said debt).
