First impressions, Syndie DOND

#1 Post by NellyLunatic1980 » Tue Sep 09, 2008 6:19 am

I like it a lot better than the network DOND. Syndie Deal moves much faster. As it stands now, it actually moves faster than Millionaire Season 7, and that's saying something.

Although the banker's offers are quite low, even considering that there's $500K as the top prize. And I miss the models - having the other potential contestants open the cases just doesn't have the same visual appeal.

I watched it just for first impressions, but there's still no reason for me to care about what happens on DoND. (In my market, we're getting two shows a day, at 6 and 6:30 pm. It looks like they're showing episodes from different weeks, since the cast of contestant/caseholders looked different.)

Even at the end, the Banker's offers were way under expected value--I guess that's how they ensure contestants don't walk before the half hour is filled.

Do they have auditioners practice opening a case, so they can be judged on their energy doing so? There was certainly a lot of energy up there.

We have double-run of Deal here as well, Marley... and it also airs from 6-7 PM.

So we have double-run of BAM on ABC, double-run of Deal on FOX... and yet, the new Trivial Pursuit gets stuck on the damn MyNetwork affiliate that I can't get here in Frankfort.

Did Trivial Pursuit premiere yesterday, too?

Do the folks who open the cases get a guess at the contents and win a bonus if their guess is correct?

Eleanor and Franklin were fifth cousins, once removed. If you know how old this future new dealer was when this occurred, then you know the rest...)

It premieres on 9/22. And it'll definitely be a TiVo show for me, since it's scheduled to air at 4:00 AM here in Pittsburgh.

What do you think?

It's not even on here in the NYC area. Neither is "Crosswords" anymore.

I only saw like five minutes of Syndi DoND yesterday. Boring. It's on at 10 and 10:30 AM here (yes, they gave us 2 shows a day). It's on the same station as BAM-which airs (as I found out yesterday) last season at 12:30 pm and this season at 4:30 pm.

Trivial Pursuit will be on the ABC station in Battle Creek from 5-6 PM. I guess we get 2 shows a day of that, too. Lucky us! At least we won't have to put up with "TMZ" and "Extra" anymore-I hate celebrity news shows!
I'm just a game show nerd.

Crosswords is not on anywhere, as it was not renewed.

I saw Crosswords earlier today. I thought it was a new show, but since we were in a one-show-a-day market, perhaps there are many reruns that I have yet to see.

The same contestant coordinator some of us worked with last year on Crosswords is running Trivial Pursuit this year. She said they thought they were going to get picked up, but it fell through.

I guess when you purchase those syndicated Crosswords episodes, you can show them as long as you want....
