Another season for the BBTranscriptTeam
With new episodes of SyndieBAM starting on Monday, it's time for us prepare for another season of transcripts. Is everyone on the team still able and willing to cover their current nights? Anyone need to drop out or change nights?
I'll still cover Thursdays.

If needed, I can cover any night except Tuesdays.

Either is fine by me.

I can be a backup but for right now I can't commit to a regular day. If that changes I will holler.

Until I find WWTBAM on my local schedule, I'm not even a backup! Rachel Ray is now in it's time slot! She was on at 4PM before, so I'll check and see what's on this afternoon in her old time slot. The station lineup still shows the old one.
Sorry! Maybe it will show up somewhere, but I'm not optimistic at this point.

Kay check WRBL 8 am
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

WRBL 8AM was last year's station. 8:30 AM was the repeat. I set the DVR.
When I watched today, nothing but Rachel Ray on both times.
WRBL's schedule still has WWTBAM at 8 and 8:30 slot and RR at 4 and 4:30.
I'll check again tomorrow.

Can I make a suggestion for the new year (now that I've seen today's show)?
Would it be possible for the transcribers to note the time LEFT for each of the correctly answered questions?
So if the contestant answers the first question in 10 sec., the transcript could note that 5 seconds were left. Or something like that.
FTR, I didn't hate the changes to the show ths year. I still don't like the idea that a huge, life changing answer could come down to a 45 second clock. I also miss the contestants' musings.
But I like the category list. I like ATE. And I like them showing the PAF pics and on-deck contestant.

This might add more work than people are willing to undertake, but it would also be informative to transcribe the list of 15 subjects shown at the start of each stack. It would be interesting to see how accurately those labels describe the actual questions. With enough data, it would also show which subjects get the most emphasis, whether there is a consistent pattern of how a stack is constructed, and which subjects should be studied by potential contestants.
