FNGD Q3 - FRIDAY AUGUST 15, 2008 - I DUNNO

#1 Post by etaoin22 » Fri Aug 15, 2008 9:04 pm

what this question will be about.

B - The auto product STP has a series of commercials with this catchphrase, based on a Somerset Maugham novel title. (which was also made into a film)

G - This weepy weepy film helped push the name "Jennifer" to #1 among girlie baby names in the US for about 15 straight years, 1970-1984 IIRC.

Young women now experience being in groups of Jen, Jen, Jen, and.... Jen. In consequence of that popularity

The Racer's Edge (instead of The Razor's Edge.)

It's that wonderful film with Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant and they're supposed to meet at the top of the Empire State Building, but she gets hit by a taxicab and is paralyzed, so he thinks she's stood him up, and I thought if I babbled long enough I'd remember the name of it, but I didn't.

"Love means never having to say youre sorry".

I botched the quote calling into CJAD trivia game, and said "you never have to say".

FWIW.

The Racer's Edge. Big brandname. Had the reputation of a scam at one time. but I think its just a big brandname now.

Well heck, SC and I had the same movie but it was the wrong one.
You can tell we're of the same generation.

Love Story never even came into my mind.

Was Erich Segal one of Al's dorm mates too?

No idea

Love Story - I wonder if I would cry if I watched it today.
