Actually, I was watching the 1936 film Things to Come yesterday, The 1966 sequence came to mind.

Our duplicate bridge club plays at the senior center, which is closed for the next two weeks. I'm going into withdrawal . . .

The next performance of the local symphony has been canceled, very disappointing. They were going to perform Beethoven's Coriolan Overture, which I have never heard live. I crossed Beethoven's Third off the bucket list in February. Now I want to hear it again, but it's not likely to come around again for a while.

Worst of all, the library is also closed for the next two weeks. I checked out Olive, Again for book club, but it won't last long.
Check the Seattle Symphony web page. They are doing some live stream concerts.
Everything is canceled through March 21, postponed or canceled after that. But thanks for the tip -- I'll look in occasionally. They'll be back.

I went to Walmart this afternoon to pick up some prescription refills. There were no problems in the pharmacy. I checked out the paper goods aisles; they were barren. So was the detergent aisle, but there was plenty of Gain on an end cap; did that become overlooked of just restocked recently? The disinfectant wipes were also depleted. What was really strange, though, was the olive oil section was mostly out; is there something I missed about that? I didn't check the meat section, but my granddaughter Brittany says the stores in her area, the northern Denver suburbs, had no beef or chicken at all. Good news for me: The four Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowls that I buy were in stock, some I don't like much were out.

I think there has been a run on computer monitors. Lots of people setting up to work from home? I tried to get one today. I went to Office Depot, got a guy to help me. I said I want that one. He scanned the bar code and said " sorry, sold out". I went down the line. Every one was sold out. It reminded me of Monte Pythons Cheese Shoppe.
Walmart also had none.
So I took a chance. I got a 30 inch smart tv for $80. Works great. Everything is so BIG. And when I'm not using it I'll have a TV for the guest room.

OK, read into this what you will.

I am now at home. Went in this morning, got things set up with the other PTB at my company about how to handle things.

I also set up a dental appointment for today that I'd been putting off because I have at least one tooth that's in distress. Was waiting for tax season (for partnerships) to be over.

Then I decided to take my temperature at noon, after feeling ooky all morning (thought it was the tooth) -- and found it to be 100.

So, I grabbed my gear, picked up an antibiotic for the tooth, got home, set up my company laptop, and checked again -- with a normal temperature. I'm hoping it's the tooth or something akin to that. But I'm going to be cautious just the same.

Maybe I'll watch Things to Come again.

Wrestlemania 36, scheduled for April 5 in Tampa, has been canceled. Instead, the matches will be livestreamed from a practice facility for pay-per-view.

The next season of Fargo with Chris Rock has been postponed indefinitely since it still has a couple of episodes to film.

The next three episodes of Saturday Night Live have been postponed. Ironically, on the last live show with Daniel Craig, they did a skit about the outlandish lengths they would go through to keep filming a steamy soap opera.

Idris Elba and Olga Kurylenko, a former Bond girl, have tested positive for coronavirus.

McDonalds is closing all its seating and play areas; restaurants will be drive-through only.

MLB has further postponed the start of its season. It now appears that the earliest they will begin play will be in June.

AMC Theaters are closing all their locations as of Tuesday. So is Landmark Theaters (primarily an arthouse chain).

Enterprise car rental is allowing younger drivers to rent cars without paying the usual premium (or not renting at all):

https://www.enterprise.com/en/help/faqs ... er-25.html

Also, if you need to, AAA and USAA members can get some breaks on young drivers.

This is primarily designed for students to get home from schools that basically have shut down.

Good news! TSA is going to allow you to carry a bigger bottle of hand sanitizer than it previously had allowed (that is, those 3-1-1 bags). You can carry on up to 12 ounces.

More good news, this on a personal front.

I went to the doctor today about this fever, because you have to go through steps to get a COVID-19 test.

She definitely says it's the tooth/teeth, one of them has gotten badly infected. It should take another day for the antibiotic to knock it out (the fever, not the tooth).

However, even when the fever subsides, I can't do anything about it. Effective today, all dentists offices are closed until the end of the month except for emergency situations.

But it sure beats the alternatives.
