Lyrically Speaking - 2/6/20

#1 Post by Charlie Brown's Teacher » Thu Feb 06, 2020 8:58 am

Wah wah wahwah wah wah, wah wahwah waaaah. Wah wahwah wah wah wah.... Wah wah wah!!! Wah wah wah wahwahwahwahwahwah wah wah wah wah, "Wah wah wah wah waaaaaah?" Wah wah....

1. In a noisy bar in Avalon
I tried to call you
But on a midnight watch
I realized why twice you ran away

2. Little darling, the smiles
Returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems
Like years since it's been here

3. When the chimes ring
Five, six, and seven
We'll be right in seventh heaven

4. She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there's time to change
Hey, hey, hey, hey

5. (Turn around) every now and then
I get a little bit tired
Of listening to the sound of my tears

6. Lower the curtain down on Memphis
Lower the curtain down all right
I got no time for private consultation

7. You bring me to my knees
You make me testify
You can make a sinner change his ways
Open up your gates 'cause I can't wait to see the light
And right there is where I wanna stay

8. Wake up the dawn and ask her why
A dreamer dreams she never dies
Wipe that tear away now from your eye

9. They say there's
Seven wonders in the world
But what they say is out of date
There's more than seven
Wonders in the world
I just met number eight

10. Mama came to the door
With a teardrop in her eye
Johnny said, don't cry, mama
Smile and wave good-bye

11. Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions

12. For here am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do

Drops of Jupiter

5. (Turn around) every now and then
I get a little bit tired
Of listening to the sound of my tears
Total Eclipse of the Heart

6. Lower the curtain down on Memphis
Lower the curtain down all right
I got no time for private consultation

7. You bring me to my knees
You make me testify
You can make a sinner change his ways
Open up your gates 'cause I can't wait to see the light
And right there is where I wanna stay

8. Wake up the dawn and ask her why
A dreamer dreams she never dies
Wipe that tear away now from your eye

9. They say there's
Seven wonders in the world
But what they say is out of date
There's more than seven
Wonders in the world
I just met number eight

10. Mama came to the door
With a teardrop in her eye
Johnny said, don't cry, mama
Smile and wave good-bye

11. Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Aquarius, 5th Dimension

12. For here am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do

What subject is Charlie Brown's Teacher teaching today? (3 points) - Astronomy! I doubt astronomy is actually taught in many schools as a separate subject, but this is the 8th CBT game I've used in the LSWE, and there aren't many subjects left with appropriate songs I haven't covered. This is one of my favorite formats to use each contest...

Anon finally coaxed an IBB out of me (Probably because frank and Weasel already won this week) with Photobomb Squirrel on the moon... though his helmet is missing from the reflection in the astronaut's visor.

JJC Points:

Krox got 3 JJC points for the lost planet, and for his annual TLITF-like screed on Total Eclipse of the Heart...

frank gets 3 JJC points for that image of the moon I've seen often, but never knew where it came from. Now that I looked it up, I know, and knowledge is power...

Weasel gets a supermax for black hole humor and for a Krox I can't believe I forgot to include...

TBone gets 3 JJC points for Patrick Mahomes and for sending Alice to the moon...

Panic gets 2 JJC points for, thankfully, censored moons...

Vandal gets 2 JJC points for more lost literary classics...

Bob gets a JJC point for, what for him, was an A effort...

melly gets a JJC point for our favorite Martian...

mrk gets 2 JJC points for another Krox I can't believe I didn't think to use, and for the obligatory Uranus image...

Sprots gets 2 JJC points for phonied up image bonuses. You can't see that in the sky around here!

Lizbit and Wiki get a supermax for the best visual aid...

jarnon gets a JJC point for Candlemas...

Anon gets a supermax for making me laugh. But not everyone in the room was laughing with me....

SCRATCHY: Dafuq is this guy's problem?

LUNA: I'll have you know that some of my favorite peasants are Bronies.

TWILIGHT: Well, humans tend to look down on Bronies because we're characters that were designed for little girls. Not horny fanboys.

LUNA: As royalty, I should be adored by all. I deserve it.

APPLEJACK: Hey Sugarcube, is he right that Bronies don't get laid?

SCRATCHY: Shit, girl, I had Brony in my stable after last night's rave.

LUNA: You mean the guy you just told us about who you discovered had no balls?

SCRATCHY: OK, so it wound up being a lesbian experience. Don't knock it till ya tried it, bitch!

TWILIGHT: This is what the humans call "TMI."

SCRATCHY: Just give me a few minutes with this Nonny Mouse guy, and I'll make him a Brony for life.

LUNA: Or you'll disappoint him and get mocked daily in next year's LSWE answers.

SCRATCHY: Ain't happenin'. NON! You and me! My barn! Now! Psst! Hey Twi? Can I borrow your microscope? For... reasons.

TWILIGHT: That was totally uncalled for! Just like attacks on upstanding Net Game Central members.

APPLEJACK: We love ya, Anon!!!

I almost used an image that said "Uranus Axehole", but because of your squirrel fetish, I had to go with the squirrel on the moon pic.
