Donny retaliates against Col. Vindman
Col. Vindman has been fired from his White House position on the National Security Council and was escorted off the grounds. I guess Senator Collins was right. Donny really has learned his lesson. And the lesson he learned is that he can do pretty much anything to anyone without consequence. --Bob

Or vet people better who work around him. Whistleblower much? He can fire whomever he wishes. Just because squishy testimony didn't go your way. Better start ramping up your donations for opponents. You have a strong field.
Sorry, crack myself up.

Re: Donny retaliates against Col. Vindman
If by vet you mean test them for personal loyalty to Donny rather than loyalty to the country, I'm sure that's exactly what Donny is trying to do. I can't understand, though, why you think that's good for the country. --Bob

Re: Donny retaliates against Col. Vindman
And while you're at it, you might try explaining why Vindman's brother also was fired. Because I can't explain that other than as an effort to retaliate against Vindman for testifying.

Vindman's? I'm sure he had no TV to watch in his office, but I do and watched every minute. Do you have any questions?

Re: Donny retaliates against Col. Vindman
You realize, of course, that if a private employer anywhere in the country fired an employee because of sworn testimony the employee had given, that employer would be subject to a massive damage award for retaliatory discharge, almost certainly including punitive damages. That's because, as a country, we don't want employers able to intimidate future whistleblowers by making an example of past whistleblowers.Beebs52 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2020 6:18 pmPolicy. Policy.

But as usual, Donny is acting as though he's above the law. And as usual, the Republicans in Congress, aided and abetted by the voters who send them back to Washington, are letting them. --Bob

Re: Donny retaliates against Col. Vindman
The Vindmans were removed from serving in the White House. They were not fired. Why would they want to continue working there? Why would Trump want to continue having them there? They serve at the President's 'pleasure', do they not? I'm sure neither was very pleased with the other.
Sondland, too, served at the pleasure of the President. When there's no trust, what else is there to do? Keep people on when you don't trust them because it's politically correct?
The blame for this is squarely on the democrats for inflating this phone call into a purely partisan impeachment. The public has been prevented from seeing the genesis of this. They won't even utter the name of the 'whistle blower' even though every one of them knows who he is. Eric doesn't work for the president, the white house or anyone else in the government. He works for US. He is not guaranteed a job, any more than any of us are. There are many reports of shady relationships and events that merit investigation. If the dems want to keep pursuing this, Eric needs to be subpoenaed and be asked questions. Or has it already been debunked by some nameless authority we don't know anything about?
Since you decided to use the word ' retaliate', what have the dems been doing to the trump administration every day since he took office?

And he was, in fact, fired from his position on the National Security Council. For no other reason than that Donny didn't like the truthful testimony he gave when compelled to do so. We all knew that Donny would run the government like a Mafia fiefdom. What's horrifying is that so many voters, like you, are so in the tank for Donny that they're cheering him on as he does it. --Bob
