2020 Rock and Roll HOF inductees

#1 Post by earendel » Wed Jan 15, 2020 2:53 pm

Depeche Mode
Doobie Brothers
Whitney Houston
Nine Inch Nails
Notorious B.I.G.
T-Rex

I can see some of these, but it took some research to find out that T-Rex had more than one hit.

T Rex was HUGE in England and other countries, just not so much here. Marc Bolan, the main force, was a legendary and influential figure in those parts.

The Doobies are in...FINALLY.

Out of the other nominees, I would've liked to have seen Todd Rundgren inducted, and I think Judas Priest deserved to, though I can count on one hand the number of their songs I like. Pat Benatar should've gone in as well.

The fan vote is a joke. The only one of the Top 5 finishers who were inducted were the Doobies. Dave Matthews Band, who I can't stand, finished 1st, Benatar 2nd, Doobies 3rd, Soundgarden 4th, and Priest 5th. Why bother with the fan vote, if they're only going to pick who they want anyway? On top of that, the fan voting results only counts as 1 vote, alongside all panel members who cast a vote.

Whitney and Biggie Smalls..rock? Gimme a break.
