Lost Discussion Thread

#1 Post by TheCalvinator24 » Fri Mar 21, 2008 10:16 am

Is it really Discussion when all we really get are more questions?
Spoiler
Who shot Danielle & Alex? Ben's people or Boat people? My bet is on the former except we do know that the chopper left the boat for some mission, so it could easily be the boat people.

Who staged the wreck? Was it really Widmore? Or is Ben making that up?

I couldn't figure out the timing of Mr. Friendly talking to Michael. Michael's mom already had Christmas Decorations up, but we know the boat got to 80 kilometers off the island just a few days before Christmas. Did Mr. Friendly go back to the island only to get run over by Hurley immediately? Or is he an immortal like Alpert & Mikhail and didn't really die when Hurley ran him down?

How could Sayid make such a blunder? I believe we saw the beginning of why Sayid winds up working for Ben. His outing of Michael is going to lead to something BAD happening.

Did Miles know who Michael really was, or could he just tell that Michael was lying about his name because of his (Miles) psychic ability?

This bit about how the island won't let people die takes a lot of getting used to. Maybe the guy from New Amsterdam came from the island as well.....

And Mr. Friendly is, or was, gay. That's an interesting bit of trivia, although probably irrelevent in the long run.

They are playing it very close to the vest as to whether Ben or Widmore or both are the really bad guys. The only reason we have to believe that Widmore is really bad, other than Ben saying so, is the presence of those mercenary types shooting machine guns during clay pigeon target practice. And considering that Ben has gassed the Dharma group and apparently gunned down Danielle, his word isn't too reliable. Plus, the boat people did shut off the gas a couple of weeks ago that would have killed a lot more people.

Going by Lost rules, Mr. Friendly's demise took place after Naomi landed on the island, which would have taken place only after the boat sailed from Fiji, which was after Friendly met with Michael and persuaded Michael to fly to Fiji, so he would have had plenty of time to get back on the island from the U.S. mainland by then.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait a month for any more answers. This was the last show filmed before the writer's strike. There will be five more episodes this season, but they will air starting April 24 at 10:00. According to the producers, the total "ground" covered this season will be the same as if the show had fillmed all 16 episodes as originally planned, but some plot threads will be postponed until next season. The three "lost" Lost episodes from this season will be added to the show's complement in the remaining two seasons so the total number of shows will remain the same.

Well, maybe the early landing team shut off the gas to protect the invading force. If they hadn't, Ben probably would have used the gas to kill the invaders while his people were protected.
