Look at this. You can get the tags right to break one quote into 3 "call & answer" segments perfectly, but you can't tell the "edit" from the "quote" button.

I don't believe I have played any of the other Krox games due to bored inactivity on my part or work/vacation commitments. But, this first one is right up my alley, so I'l give it a shot. Unfortunately, I'll be sporadic at best during the mid part of July because I'll be in the Land of the Mouse.
Spoiler
1. For some reason, I thought that Krox was more than just a year and a half older than me. It must be the mature posts! Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter - Herman's Hermits
2. This was the year that I first really started getting into music, and 1972 is my second favorite music year of the decade. Let's Stay Together - Al Green
3. I remember there was an expectation that these guys would be huge after this rock song popped up during the summer of Disco. Nobody would have thought they'd be a one and a half hit wonder. My Sharona - The Knack
4. Not a fan of the movie or the song. Flashdance...What a Feeling - Irene Cara
5. I like them more now than I did then, but not really by much. They recenly played in Baltimore and a Facebook friend of mine posted, "If a bomb went off at Ravens Stadium tonight, I'd lose half my FB friends. On the plus side, we'd also lose U2." Cracked me up. Without or Without You - U2
6. I was always partial to her over Tiffany since she wrote all her stuff and Tiffany didn't. Of course, I just heard Shake Your Love on the radio this afternoon and thought, "Maybe it would have been better had she just not admitted to writing this one at all." Foolish Beat - Debbie Gibson
7. Love this song but never would have guessed that in two decades she'd be the odds-on favorite to replace the Beatles as the artist with the most #1 hits on the Hot 100. Vision of Love - Mariah Carey
8. On the other hand, two decades ago, I'd have placed a wager on her being the one to eventually catch the Beatles rather than becoming a junkie. All The Man That I Need - Whitney Houston
9. The Diva Parade continues! That's The Way Love Goes - Janet Jackson
10. After this song hit number one, Santana had the unlikely distinction as the top act of the century. Didn't last long. Maria Maria by Santana
11. I'm an unlikely Nelly fan. Ride Wit Me is one of my favorite songs of the early 2000s. This one is Dilemma by Nelly and Kelly Rowland.
12. And splat goes my quest for perfection...

Bonus 1 - Anything from Seal's second album reminds me of my son being born. I'll go with Kiss From A Rose since it fits the theme of being a number one hit.

Bonus 2 - For me, the unfortunate answer is Debbie Gibson since my little sister wanted to go see her and I could drive her there. I swear that's the reason. You probably have much better taste than I do, though, so I'll say Santana.

Thanks, Esto, but I don't see how remembering the artist would be considered easier (or at least as easy) as remembering the song. Even if I have spent a lifetime being out of tune with the pop music of the day, I have been exposed to it and have bits and pieces of it embedded in my brain. The artist ID, OTOH, is a far more abstract piece of information. I can "hear" the above clip without being able to recognize the artist(s).

In fact, even after reading other people's answers for the artist, I'm still scratching my head and asking "who?"
Anyway, I want to get officially on the scoreboard in my rightful place in the cellar, at least until I get pushed out by some squatters.

10. April 5, 2000 - I relocate my family to North Carolina to switch careers to teaching
She reminds me of a west side story
Growing up in Spanish Harlem
She's living the life just like a movie star

I want to say Carlos Santana, but I think it's because of the Spanish Harlem thing and this isn't Smooth. But that's all I got and I'm pretty much sucking thus far, so......

Rough - Carlos Santana

Ha!

11. September 22, 2002 - I win $29,801 on Jeopardy
I met this chick and she just moved right up the block from me
And uhh, she got the hots for me the finest thing my hood done seen
But oh no, oh no, she gotta a man

Dilemma - Nelly (in the band-aid days) and Kelly Rowland

Oddly enough, they were both on the BET Awards last night. K-Row is looking pretty good these days (she sang with Trey Songz), but Nelly was a riot. They did a several segment reality spoof called The Real Hollywood Husbands with Nelly, Bobby Brown, Jermaine Dupri and Kevin Hart. The funniest was when Kevin Hart was showing off a huge "Mariah" tattoo on his back and in walks Nick Cannon. Ha! Well, I guess you had to be there, but I bet they are on youtube at this point. Worth the look.....

12. January 10, 2005 - My third child Saskia is born
Baby I just don't get it, do you enjoy being hurt?
I know you smelled the perfume, the make-up on his shirt
You don't believe his stories, you know that they're all lies
Bad as you are, you stick around and I just don't know why

Let Me Love You - Mario

I just saw this video a week or so ago! I think it was one of the 100 Sexiest Videos on Fuse. Why, I don't know. It's mostly Mario whining like a bitch while rocking baggy pants, chicken necking and doing the Every Little Step dance.

Bonus - What is a song (with artist) that is important to you and why?

Aw, you should have made this what was the #1 song the day you were born. It would be interesting to see how many people know theirs. Since I have no shame and it's worth a point, here's mine:

I Will Follow Him - Little Peggy March

Bonus Trivia - Which of these artist is the only one I've seen perform live?

Since I don't see the Monkees on here, I'll go

U2

(If it's The Knack, I'm going to scream, since that was my first instinct)

Almost completely right. It is courteous to use the "spoiler =" tag (not either one of them) because then the person scoring the game (or reading the responses) doesn't have to scroll, scroll, scroll past all the pages of huge black boxes to get to new posts.

If one wants to get to new posts most efficiently, one can just click on the icon next to the thread title that brings one directly to the newest unread post.

I tried to quote from Esto's answer post to reply to his joke about my washer, and I must have hit Edit instead of delete!!!!
You didn't even reply to the joke. You fucked up my post for nothing, Dumbass...

The reply I had made that led to this incident, incidentally, was that I wished the repair bill for my washer was only $35.... it was actually $75...

I seem to be missing from the points list. (I know my answers were horrible, but at least I got ONE right. :D)

So am I. I wonder if whatever lb13 did to esto's answers eradicated mine also.

By the way, this date appears to have a typo. That date (exactly two weeks after I brought down confetti at Play It!) was a Sunday. --Bob

Barandal - I did miss yours. They have been added.

Earendel - I just went back through the thread and don't see your answers. Do you know how many you got? I'll credit you if you can remember.

Only two - #1 and #2, and the bonus question (Precious and Few by Climax, because elwing and I were getting ready to be married and we were working opposite shifts, not to mention she was away at school).

I manually searched post by post for a possible "jeemied" LS answer post by earendel (It's happened before here.... SC had an answer post eaten that could only be viewed by putting the post number in the url), but I came up empty. Your response must not have actually posted (Though I did think I saw you in the LS thread that day, which is the only reason I bothered checking)....
