"I've Been Everywhere" Game for 4/18/11
The current batch is as as follows:

7 Shot Here<-Today's topic
This game will be open until tomorrow morning. (The previous one will remain open until I have time to score it, either today or tomorrow morning)

The topic is Level 7 - Shot Here<-Today's topic

This is near one of several settings where the movie was shot. It is in the USA or Canada.
To play, please respond or guess as to the state/province and what region within the state/province this background scene can be found.
Usual rule for one point scoring. Also an incorrect guess of the neighboring state/province where a few scenes of this movie were also shot will be worth one point:

So, I think it was filmed in South Dakota - now...... what areas are there in South Dakota? No idea - so....... let's go with the state capital area.

Don't know. Loved the movie.

Pretty sure its not Florida.

I'll go with North Dakota.

Well, yeah, it's got to be somewhere up in the Rockies, but I can't say exactly where, so I'll go with Billings, Montana.

I think it was one of the Dakotas...since snaxx is looking for a "region" it makes me think that it might be South Dakota and something like the Badlands or the Black Hills...I'll say, the Black Hills, SD. I know that kusch is in North Dakota, but I wonder if he was used as an extra in the movie?

Dances With Wolves is one of my favorite films. I know most of it was shot in South Dakota but some scenery is from around Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I have to figure they'd put up a sign only for where primary filming was done though. It's certainly not the plains, so it's probably Spearfish Canyon, near Deadwood, South Dakota.

I believe much of it was shot in South Dakota so that would be my guess. Probably some of it was in or near the Black Hills and Badlands National Park in southwest South Dakota but that is about as specific as I can be. Not much else out there...

If I'd seen the photo without the sign, I would have said, "Hey, that looks like the Black Hills." Since the sign is there, I will say, "That's in the Black Hills, South Dakota, which puts it somewhere in the area of Rapid City."
