http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/Busines ... entury.htmApril 11, 1954: The most boring day in the 20th century
City computer buff William Tunstall-Pedoe has worked out that April 11, 1954 was the most uneventful day in the whole of the 20th century.

Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Not necessarily--as little as 20 years ago, I subscribed to the afternoon paper. There was such a thing as TWO newspapers a day...

My gran got the morning edition because she liked to read the paper over breakfast after everybody left for the day. We got the afternoon edition because it had the overnight sports scores. Because if they were too late to make it onto the sports segment of the 10 o'clock news, that was the only way to find out those things, bitd.....minimetoo26 wrote:littlebeast13 wrote:
