Retroactive good luck to Rafferbee

#1 Post by Bob78164 » Mon Mar 21, 2011 12:09 am

Watch Jeopardy! on Tuesday to see Rafferbee's appearance on the show as a challenger. Retroactive good luck to her, as we hope for a good number of subsequent appearances as the defending champion. The current champion appears formidable, so if he wins Monday's game, Rafferbee will have her work cut out for her. --Bob

Spoiler for Monday, March 21
We now know that Rafferbee will indeed be facing Tom as a five-time champ. Can she end his reign? Tune in and watch to find out.

Tom Kunzen will be awfully hard to beat. The two challengers today both had a chance and were hoping for a tough final J! up their alley, but that was not the case.

Unlike other days, the challengers managed to hit a couple of the daily doubles and still held back on their bets. When you're playing a champ who is tough on the buzzer and aggressive with betting, you have to maximize what chances you have.

Spoiler
I admit, I don't find myself compelled to root for someone on a game show just because they happen to be from the Bored, but I was as genuinely excited during your Double J! comeback as I have been watching any game show in a long time.....

I guess I will be losing sleep tomorrow as well......

Woo hoo, Megan the Giant Killer!

I gotta admit that you had me worried when you were betting just barely enough to take the lead or tie on those Daily Doubles, when the champ had been doing better on the buzzer. But all's well that ends well!

Thank you everyone! I am super tired and I don't know if I'm feeling my baby kick for the first time or if my stomach is just doing somersaults from the excitement, but I am so happy I finally get to share this with everyone.

When I called AlphaDummy from the airport, I told him "Well, I won't tell you how I did, but I went up against a 5-day champion. But I held my own, I'm proud of how I competed."

"Oh, that's too bad," he said. That's when I realized it would be fun to make my family think I lost without ever saying it. So my parents were wigging out tonight!

You had me going, that's for sure! :P There was something in your voice that day that made it sound like you came up short. Might I recommend tournament poker next?

And congrats on an excellent game! Was watching with my son Dan; when we realized that you were going to win, we were relieved...and when we saw that you nailed it, and nailed it big...well, you probably heard the whoop from down there.

The tape is set to go for tomorrow...
