Guess my mind is still on that fabulous Yankees-Red Sox game.SportsFan68 wrote:Ouch!T_Bone0806 wrote:3-1-4-3
Overs?
Old fashioned 1-0 pitchers duel between Joba Chamberlain & Josh Beckett. Lots of excitement, including a brushback pitch that could well lead to a brawl before the weekend is through.
Nothing like Yanks-Sox.

I actually drove some of Route 66, via I-40 when driving from CT to AZ.

Beedums will be grouchy. Yanks and Bucs are about to pull off a trade that will land us Xavier Nady and Damaso Marte, both filling tremendous needs with quality players. Food Monarch will say the Pirates are getting a pouch of magic beans but the AA outfielder they are getting will likely be a big star, one of the pitchers has shown flashes of brilliance, and I have never heard of the other two pitchers they are getting.

Actually, the Mickster grew up in Commerce, Oklahoma. He owned a Holiday Inn in Joplin, though.etaoin22 wrote:hey I finally wrote a starter which hits people right in the memory....

I think.
Most have. Joplin is IIRC home to Mickey Mantle. So versatile was he.
