#1 Post by etaoin22 » Fri Jul 18, 2008 9:42 pm

Q6-JFF

One part only here:

Here in Quebec, "Joe Louis" and "Mae West", spelled a little differently are what you buy at the "Depanneur" (convenience store) as types of:

1 - lottery tickets
2 - bubble gum
'3 - snack cakes
4 - illegal firecrackers.

Oh. You've asked this, or told us about this, in the deep mists of the distant past. Of course, I don't actually remember what you said. I will guess Snack Cakes.

I'll guess bubble gum.

Yeh, I probbly talked about it.

i was probably hungry then, too.

The Jos. et Louis and the May West are the snack cakes of the Vachon company of the Beauce, a very enterprising back country area of Quebec south of Quebec City.

Joseph and Louis were the 2 Vachon brothers.

But everyone calls the Joe Louis the Joe Louis. It is covered in chocolate, with chocolate cake and white stuff in the middle. It beats any other snack cake I have seen.. But I doubt that anyone would deep fry it.
