THe guys on CJAD trivia show effectively asked for this question the other way around, without the cards and the Wink Martindale:

Here is the question, referring to the cards:

In that song about the soldier boys in the North African campaign who didnt all have their bibles and prayer books after a long hike in he desert, and one of them took out a deck of cards in church and nearly got in really deep doo-doo for it:

Ace was the Lord, and 2 was the testaments, and so on:

What was the 8?

I dunno. I'll guess the Sermon on the Mount.

I need the spiritual growth, but I haven't got a clue about the answer. I will await the Revelation with interest.

But, since it doesn't cost me anything to guess, I will do so.

The soldiers 8 fish for the multitudes.

Doc? Just cuz we got lucky tonight, please don't make them a LOT harder next week.

I usually get 2 of 10.

I have heard this song "Deck of Cards" maybe twice. I do not know this.

This one is harder. It had the CJAD listeners in the portion of the show where the game is answering as many as you can one after the other immediately, heading right into vacuum land.

As asked, "Accoring to the BIBLe, How many humans were there on Noah's Ark?"

I was hoping the question might hold up until it was my call-in, so I could remind them of Wink Martindale, and the Deck Of Cards, which like so much cultural detritus, I cannot fully forget....

"And the eight reminds me of the 8 rightdeous people who God saved, Noah and his three sons, and their wives."
