Just for kicks, I googled our old address in the PI, and found the house we lived in 40 years ago. I legit thought the town was buried when Pinatubo blew, but that neighborhood, at least, is still there...27 Del Pilar, Angeles City, Pampanga, PI
very cool blast from the past - good times.

It looks humid. The nearby Angeles City Guesthouse is only $12/night.

This is where I was living at that time: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Hotel ... ?entry=ttu

I thought since I left Atlanta for there, I was prepared for the humidity. I was wrong.

Caracas is about 3000 feet high, so it was mild, even in monsoon season.
