After years stuck in streaming limbo, early ’90s classic Northern Exposure — the fifth most sought-after, non-streaming show in a July TVLine poll — is now available to binge Stateside on Prime Video. All six seasons (110 episodes) have quietly been uploaded to the service in high definition and retain their original 4:3 aspect ratio.

I remember watching this back in the early 90s, but none of the early episodes that I’ve recently viewed look familiar so I must have started during season two. This show is so fun to watch and the “will they won’t they” relationship between Joel and Maggie plays out so well. The music is different, according to the article, but what’s there is fine.

No commercials! Each episode is around 47 minutes.

Cool! I liked that show when I watched it. I don't think it was a must watch for me, but I watched plenty of episodes.

I received a notice from Amazon Prime a couple of weeks ago saying that starting on some date in late January, there would be commercials with their TV shows (unless you pay extra a month to get the commercial-free service). I don't know if they were referring just to their new streaming series or to older shows like Northern Exposure as well.
