Actors Strike Ending

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Wed Nov 08, 2023 11:11 pm

SAG-AFTRA, the actors' union, has reached a tentative deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers that should end their 118-day strike. This will have a more immediate impact on network TV schedules. Production will probably resume quickly to allow new seasons to begin shortly after the first of the year. This fall, the schedules have been a combination of reality TV, foreign shows, repeats, and a handful of series that had completed filming before the actors strike began.

A number of movies that had been scheduled for release this fall, like the Dune sequel, have been pushed back to 2024, and other release dates have also been extended, including the next Mission Impossible film, which we won't get to see until 2025.
