RIP Matthew Perry

#1 Post by Vandal » Sat Oct 28, 2023 7:43 pm

“Friends” star Mathew Perry was found dead Saturday in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home, law enforcement sources said.

Authorities responded about 4 p.m. to his home, where he was discovered unresponsive. The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing, did not cite a cause of death. There was no sign of foul play, the sources added. A representative for Perry did not immediately respond to The Times’ request for comment.

Los Angeles Police Department’s robbery-homicide detectives are investigating the death. The cause of death will be determined at a later date by the Los Angeles county coroner’s office.

A long time ago, I happened to catch The Ron Clark Story, a 2006 made for TV movie. Perry was really good, and I wish he could have made more movies. I was sad to learn about his addiction issues. I'll watch the Ron Clark Story again one of these days.

I loved him best in three episodes of The West Wing, for which he was nominated for two Emmys (different seasons).

He was lucky to survive several issues six years ago, so I presume this will turn out to be a cardiac event that happened to take place in a hot tub (rather than drowning).

Probably that or a stroke. I doubt he did a Whitney Houston.
