Kay! Cat Genie

#1 Post by fantine33 » Wed May 21, 2008 11:45 pm

If you're still around. I just remembered I've been meaning to ask you if you ever got one of these and if you have a review.

A while back I was ready to buy, I even had it in the shopping cart. But then I was looking to see if there were any promo codes anywhere and happened on some horror story reviews. Like it getting plugged and having the room end up flooded with water, or the clean and dry function not working right and you end up with baked poop. So, I got a little gunshy and let it go.

But I've got the urge again.

I did not get a Cat Genie. We are still using our Littermaid.

I did buy the cats a Drinkwell water fountain to drink from and they are all loving it.

Natalie has one. She had it installed in the laundry room of her new house. She loves it.

Would you please ask her if she's had any problem with the water backing up, or it clogging and she has to dig out baked poop pastry by hand?

I was thinking about a Littermaid, but I didn't want to spend the money if I have to still buy litter, anyway.

I love the Littermaid because I only have to dump the poo every other day instead of every day. (We have three cats.)

Nope, Natalie has had none of the problems you mentioned. She is OCD about cleanliness, has 2 cats and one dog and would NEVER scoop poop. That's the main reason for the Cat Genie. In fact, I got it for her for Christmas.

Okay, you've convinced me. Did you order yours directly from Cat Genie? I notice there are other places to order but they offer the package with the covered dome (did you get that as well?) Now I just have to wait until all the bills come in from my latest round of medical tests and see if I have any left with which to stimulate.

It will be on the heads of BoB and Natalie if I end up spending all my time unclogging poop or mopping up water when it floods. Ha!

I ordered hers from Petco, but it came with all the bells and whistles. I guess it's a good thing we're more than a thousand miles apart....just in case you don't like it!

I just going by what she has told me and she's pretty picky. Good luck!

I'm waiting for all of the latest round of medical bills to come in and, if I have anything left to stimulate with after that, I think I'm going to take the plunge!

I stopped by Petco because I wanted to see it in person, but they don't have them in the actual store. I'm a little concerned about the size, because I have a big litter box and they (or at least one of them) still goes on the sides.

I'm considering the Fresh Step one. It's pretty big and I think the trays would be about the same cost as the solution cylinders for the Genie. But I like the idea of the processed waste going straight into the toilet and not having anything I have to throw away.

I edited the title just in case you hadn't read my last response to you, since the title originally referenced somebody else.

How many cats does Natalie have and, when you speak with her next, could you please ask her how often she needs to replace the solution cartridges?

PS I'm calling you "Kay" in the title because if I put BoB, I'd have every Bob on the board asking wtf would I think that they knew who Natalie was, how many cats she has and what her cartridge consumption is like. Ha!

Natalie has two cats. I'll have to ask her about the cartridge. I'll get back with you on that.

Yes, but I figured that Kay would be talking to Natalie before you had a chance.

I won't quote it, but Four Hour Stiffy, I'm pretty sure that we're speaking about two different Natalies. You're thinking of Natalie Wood.

Yay! Since I have three, I should be able to add it half again and get an idea of how fast I'd go through them. Also, I think it says you have to occasionally add more fake litter. Could you ask her that as well?

Have you seen the commercial about the State Farm Scrappin' Squirrels? Their mascot is a guy in a big squirrel suit!

I haven't seen the State Farm ad. I'll watch for it.

Still waiting on Natalie to call me back on the other.

Hey Evil, what brand of tp do you use? Or are you one of those "organic" freaks?

I just saw it for the first time yesterday on Vh1. I was in the kitchen and the volume was on low, so I couldn't hear what it was for, I just saw the guy in the suit and thought maybe it was a Vh1 joke spot about Furries.

Then they pulled back and I saw the Scrappin' Squirrels logo on the wall but by the time I got over to turn up the volume it was the end and I just heard something about State Farm. So I have no idea what the context is on it.
